On New Year's Eve 2018
ABOUT ME
Hey there! I'm Sol π I'm a product designer and a design researcher based in Montreal. I thrive in navigating ambiguously defined design spaces.
I graduated summa cum laude from Tufts University in 2022 with a double major in Cognitive Brain Science and Architectural Studies.
May 2022: Graduated from Tufts!
In undergrad, I designed and built Affective Color Fields, a natural language AI system that takes in a textual input from a userβs speech and visualizes the emotional analyses as Rothkoesque color fields. This project was published by the ACM Multimedia 2021.
This valuable experience led me to the world of πͺ AI systems πͺ
I found my passion in designing long-term interactions between an AI model and a human user and discovering opportunities and tensions in those relationships that evolve over time.
Me interacting with Affective Color Fields
Recently, I successfully defended my master's thesis and am on the verge of completing my degree in Interaction Design at Simon Fraser University. During the two years in grad school, I've worked on multiple research projects in designing with generative AI (large language models) and e-book metadata.
